The International Mathematical Modeling Challenge (IMMC) is not your typical math competition. Instead of solving textbook problems, students use mathematics to tackle global issues — from climate change to urban planning.
🧠 What is Mathematical Modeling?
Mathematical modeling is the process of using math to represent, analyze, and solve problems from real life. This could include:
Estimating the spread of diseases
Planning sustainable city traffic
Designing efficient water usage systems
Analyzing economic or social trends
In the IMMC, teams of four students work together over five days to create a full research-style report proposing a mathematical solution to a real problem.
🔍 A Glimpse Into the Challenge
In past years, IMMC problems have included:
Designing a global sports league schedule
Optimizing disaster relief logistics
Analyzing the impact of social media algorithms
Students must research, build models, test assumptions, and present results — all within five days.
📈 Why Join IMMC?
Develop university-level research skills
Learn teamwork, time management, and data analysis
Gain national recognition and a chance to represent Saudi Arabia internationally
Showcase your work to an international panel of judges and professors
Mathematics is the language of the future. Through IMMC, Saudi students have a chance to become global voices in science, data, and innovation.
